Thank you to World War II veteran and longtime United States Senator Bob Dole for officially giving his blessing on the renaming of our annual World War II Foundation Eagle Leadership Award in his honor.

The award is bestowed upon a WWII veteran each year in honor of their service to our nation during and after WWII and their continued efforts to further educate generations on the stories of those who fought, died and sacrificed so much in the years 1941-1945, both in combat and on the home front.

Moving forward our award will officially be called the Senator Bob Dole World War II Leadership Award Presented by the World War II Foundation. We are honored.

2019 Honoree, Senator Bob Dole

The Eagle Leadership statue will be given to a deserving person of the WWII generation who still endeavors today, through education, to preserve the lessons and sacrifice of that time in our history.

2018 Award Recipient: 101st Airborne D-Day, Market Garden and Battle of the Bulge Veteran Jim “Pee Wee” Martin received the first of what will be an annual World War II Foundation Leadership Award.

Thank you to Pee Wee for all he does to help us to never forget the important stories of World War II and for his service as a brave Screaming Eagle in Europe during the war itself.
