Hollywood Icon Dan Aykroyd to Hold Event in Boston to Benefit the Non-Profit World War II Foundation

Hollywood icon Dan Aykroyd (Saturday Night Live, Trading Places, The Blues Brothers, Ghostbusters, Coneheads, Tommy Boy, 1941, Pearl Harbor, Spies Like Us, 50 First Dates, Neighbors, Dragnet, Canadian Bacon and many other films and TV series) hosts an evening to honor the veterans of World War II at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, MA on Thursday, July 24th, 2014 from 7pm to 9pm.

All proceeds benefit the Rhode Island based World War II Foundation and its mission of chronicling the stories of the WWII generation for Public Television.

The World War II Foundation is currently working on its 12th documentary film. All WWII Foundation films air nationally on PBS affiliates and globally via American Public Television.

In 2012, the foundation also dedicated the Richard D. Winters Leadership monument in Normandy, France, honoring all those Americans who led the way on D-Day.

Aykroyd narrated the foundation’s third film, World War II: Saving the Reality, which premiered in 2011.

In 2013, The World War II Foundation was awarded just one of five National Programming Excellence Awards by American Public Television for its WWII Preservation Series.
