Mr. David F. Alfonso, Executive Producer of the Richard D. Winters Leadership Project
Mr. David F. Alfonso is the Executive Producer of the WWII Foundation’s Richard D. Winters Leadership project, which involves the Richard Winters Leadership Monument in Normandy, France (dedicated on June 6, 2012) and phase two of the project, a documentary film focusing on Major Richard D. Winters leadership of men in combat in World War II. He is also a frequent visitor to Normandy, France and an avid WWII historian.

David has over twenty years of merger, acquisition and operational experience, having acquired more than fifty business units from corporate parents, with aggregate revenues of over $5 billion and 15,000 employees worldwide. He has been the portfolio manager of a diversified group of companies with operations in the U.S., Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Mr. Alfonso founded Empire Investment Holdings (“Empire”) in 2004. Empire is a private investment firm focused on the acquisition and strategic management of non-core business units from public and private companies. Empire has acquired business units from Fortune 500 companies such as: IKON Office Solutions, Teleflex Corporation, Leggett & Platt and Ahlstrom Corporation. Today the portfolio is comprised of operating companies, serving over 10,000 customers worldwide, with an international footprint and 1,000 associates.
Prior to Empire, Mr. Alfonso held executive positions at Platinum Equity, The Hartford and American Bankers.
Mr. Alfonso is the Executive Producer for the WWII Foundation’s, Major Richard D. Winters Monument and Film Project. The D-Day Leadership Monument was unveiled in Normandy, France on June 6, 2012. The premier of the leadership film was held in November 2012 at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA, which is the alma mater of Dick Winters.

In 2011, Mr. Alfonso was awarded the FIU Medallion for Outstanding Alumnus. His family also supports the FIU Athletic program, providing scholarships to student athletes and the naming rights of the FIU football field, now named Alfonso Field.
Mr. Alfonso is active in the South Florida community. His family has supported the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Florida International University, The Zoological Society of Metro Zoo, the United Way, the Humane Society of Miami, the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the American Cancer Society, the Make A Wish Foundation, and the Jimmie Johnson Foundation.
He served on the Florida International University Foundation Board and the FIU Finance and Audit Committee.
